What is LGPD?
It is the General Data Protection Law (Federal Law No. 13,709/2018) that provides for the processing of personal data, defining the cases in which such data can be legitimately used by third parties and establishing mechanisms to protect the privacy of data subjects.
What personal data is protected by the LGPD?
The LGPD defines personal data as information related to an identified or identifiable natural person. That is, data that allows the identification of an individual. Data from legal entities is not considered personal data for the purposes of the LGPD.
What is personal data processing?
Under the terms of the LGPD, the processing of personal data is any operation carried out with personal data, such as those relating to the collection, production, reception, classification, use, access, reproduction, transmission, distribution, processing, archiving, storage, elimination, evaluation or control of information, modification, communication, transfer, dissemination or extraction.
What are the rights of personal data holders based on the LGPD?
The LGPD provides for the following main rights of personal data holders:
Right to confirmation of existence and access;
Right of correction;
Right to anonymization, blocking or deletion;
Right to information about data sharing;
Right not to provide consent and refusals;
Right of opposition;
Right to revoke consent;

What is DPO or Manager?
DPO (acronym in English for Data Protection Officer) or Officer (term used by LGPD) is the person responsible for assisting the company in the processing of personal data in relation to compliance with legal obligations regarding privacy, acting in the interaction and communication between the company, data subjects and ANPD.

What is ANPD?
It is the National Data Protection Authority, the federal body responsible for monitoring and enforcing the LGPD.
How will my request be processed?
- 1st step: the holder of personal data must access the Holder Portal link and register their request.
- 2nd step: União Química's DPO will receive the request for analysis, verification and response. At this stage, we may: (a) respond to the holder by meeting his/her request; (b) respond to the holder by denying his/her request in a reasoned manner.
- 3rd step: the holder of the personal data will receive, in the registered email, a response regarding the resolution of their request.
What is the deadline for processing the request?
União Química will always respect the deadlines determined by the LGPD and applicable regulations.
